虎牙旗下的游戏直播平台 Nimo TV 正式进入巴西

Nimo TV, an overseas game live streaming platform under Tiger Tooth, announced its official entry into Brazil. At a press conference held in Brazil, Nimo TV announced that it will work with top local anchors to flourish the game live streaming ecosystem.

As the first Chinese game live streaming company to land on the New York Stock Exchange, Tiger Tooth officially went overseas in May last year, and Nimo TV is an overseas live streaming platform held by Tiger Tooth 100%. As of May this year, Nimo TV operates in 10 countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Brazil and Mexico. According to the company, as of December 2018, Nimo TV overseas has more than 11.5 million monthly users, and the current Android mobile downloads have reached 20 million.

We are very optimistic about the growth opportunities in the Brazilian market," said Wei He, Vice President of Tiger's Teeth and Head of Nimo TV Operations. Brazil has some of the world's most game-loving players. When we tested the local market at the end of last year, we noticed the growing demand for live game broadcasting among users, a trend that is especially evident in mobile. This is an area we hope to continue to build on."

As the largest country in Latin America, Brazil has a population of over 200 million, making it the fifth most populous country in the world. At the same time, Brazil's smartphone penetration rate reached 41% last year alone, with a large number of potential gamers. According to market research firm Newzoo, Brazil is the world's 13th largest gaming market, with annual gaming revenue of $1.452 billion, higher than India ($1.105 billion) and Indonesia ($1.084 billion). Among the best-selling games in Brazil are Garena's Free Fire and Tencent's PUBGM, according to App Annie.

Although Chinese companies are slightly cooler and more restrained about going to sea in Latin America than in Southeast Asia and India, it is not for lack of layout. From the perspective of the giants, Tencent, a shareholder of Tiger Tooth, invested in Brazilian fintech unicorn company Nubank, DDT acquired Brazilian taxi app 99, and Huawei also entered Brazil for the second time this year.

Earlier this year, 36 Krypton had reported that SoftBank launched a new $5 billion SoftBank Innovation Fund to invest in tech companies in Latin America. at the end of April, there was already news that SoftBank would complete a $1 billion investment in Latin American errand-running app Rappi, which came from this new fund.

Nimo TV has already begun to source local headliners in Brazil, the company said. According to the company, Nimo TV has already signed exclusive agreements with some of the most popular YouTube stars with millions of followers, such as Piuzinho, Elgato, Crusher and PlayHard, among others. In addition, Brazilian esports teams such as INTZ and Black Dragons have signed exclusive live streaming agreements with Nimo TV.
